Patrick Gaillard is a former racing driver from France. He participated in 5 Formula One Grand Prix in 1979 and 1980, but failed to score a point.

After performing well in Formula 3, Gaillard moved to Formula 2, but a lack of budget hampered his progress. The same year, he drove an Ensign (Mo Nunn’s team) in Formula 1, but the car was not competitive, and he failed to qualify three times out of five attempts.

In 1980, Gaillard returned to Ensign for the Spanish Grand Prix and finished in 6th place – the last of the 6 cars running at the finish, 5 laps down. However the result did not count, as the race was downgraded to an non-championship event due to the FISA-FOCA war, making Gaillard’s only point nullified.

Thereafter he drove in Formula 2, CanAm, and sports cars including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He later became a racing instructor.
