Marcel Fässler (44) has called it a day! What a great career in endurance racing for this fast and reliable driver, matched only by being such a lovely person.

The Swiss driver competed from 2010 to 2016 in the FIA World Endurance Championship as part of Audi Sport Team Joest (led by Wolfgang Ullrich) with co-drivers André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times and capturing the World Endurance Drivers’ Championship in 2012.

Marcel Fässler: “Am proud of what I was able to achieve. As a boy I had this dream to become a racing driver. Full of passion and commitment I went this long way, and I was racing with the best.”

In 2001, he even was invited to test a Formula One car for the McLaren team.

His win at Le Mans with Lotterer and Tréluyer in 2011, where they held off the trio of Peugeot 908 to claim victory by only 13.8 seconds, was truly heroic (picture below).
