Jean-Pierre Jarier is a French former Grand Prix and endurance driver. He drove for several Formula One teams including March, Shadow, ATS, Lotus, Ligier, Osella and Tyrrell. His best finish was third (three times), he should have won a few races with Shadow (in 1975) and Team Lotus (in 1978) but luck was not on his side, the days his dominated. He also took three pole positions.
Jarier is seen here-above in 1973 next to his F1 March. He was signed to the March Formula 2 team, and was also given a Formula One seat by the outfit. While his debut in F1 was difficult with the uncompetitive 721G, Jarier stormed to the Formula 2 title with eight wins, like here-under, at Rouen.
