Jean-Marc Gounon
Jean-Marc Gounon (born 1 January 1963) is a French racing driver. He raced in Formula 1 in 1993 and 1994, participated in a total of 9 Grand Prix for Minardi and Simtek, but failed to score championship points.
After his debut in karting, Gounon joins the Formula Renault in 1985 with the Orion team. He’s runner-up in the French championshipin 1986 and 1987 with the Martini team, and then moves on the F3 where he finishes fourth in the 1988 championship in a Dallara.
In 1989, He wins the French F3 championship in a Reynard-Alfa prepared by Oreca? He then spends three years in Formula 3000. In 1991, Gounon wins Pau Grand Prix in a Ralt-Cosworth entered by team 3001 International and finishes sixth in the standings. In 1992, Gounon again finishes sixth, but impresses by winning the last round at Magny-Cours, in a DAMS-entered Lola Cosworth.
JMG always was a fantastic starter! His impulse was extraordinary.
In monotypes formulas, he usually gained 10 or 20 meters in hundred first meters of the race to others with similar cars.
