David Hobbs

David Hobbs (born 9 June 1939) is a British former racing driver and later commentator for CBS and NBC in the USA. He was one of the best endurance drivers of his generation, drove briefly in Formula One (7 entries) and in Nascar as well.

He made twenty starts in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a best finish of 3rd in 1969 and 1984. In the French classic he drove for most of the top teams like: John Wyer Automotive, Roger Penske/Kirk F. White, Équipe Matra-Simca, John Fitzpatrick Racing, Joest Racing, Lola Cars Ltd, Team Lotus and many more..

Hobbs now lives in Vero Beach, Florida, with his wife Margaret, with whom he had two sons, Gregory and Guy.
