Belgian Olivier Gendebien seems to wonder where his opponent Bruce McLaren is, both in a Cooper-Climax, at the 1960 French Grand Prix at Reims-Gueux (picture above by David Phipps).

The 1960 French Formula One Grand Prix was held at the fast triangular circuit of Reims-Gueux on 3 July 1960. The rear-engined Cooper-Climax’s were the superior cars and so the 50-lap race was won from pole position by reigning World Champion, Australian Jack Brabham in a works Cooper, in front of three other such single-seaters.

Olivier Gendebien drove a storming race after qualifying way down the field, in 11th position. He fought his way up, and in his British Racing Partnership-entered Cooper, resisted till the finishing line to the second works Cooper-Climax of Bruce McLaren to finish in second position.
