Twenty one years ago, Juan Pablo Montoya won the 2000 Indianapolis 500. Chip Ganassi Racing entered two Target-sponsored cars for Jimmy Vasser and Juan Pablo Montoya. Both drivers were quickly up to speed with the IRL regulars, and expected to be favorites.
Montoya led 167 laps, and cruised to victory, becoming the first rookie winner since Graham Hill in 1966. It was the first of two victories at Indianapolis for the Colombian (2000, 2015).
Twenty one years later, Montoya is returning to the Brickyard with the Arrow McLaren SP team (picture below). His experience will certainly be an asset for the team. Victory? You never know at Indy.
