The Japanese Grand Prix was held at the Suzuka race track on 20 October 1991. We witnessed that day an excellent performance by Martin Brundle (picture above), who finished 5th in the BT60Y, giving Brabham its last points in Formula One.

Gerhard Berger (McLaren-Honda) started from pole position, and led his team mate Senna and Mansell (Williams-Renault) into the first corner. When Mansell was forced to retire, Senna and Berger went off in the distance.

The two ran in formation for the rest of the race with Senna, crowned World Champion for the third time, letting Berger through on the last lap (picture below) to win his first race for McLaren. This was also the last time Senna, Prost, Piquet and Mansell raced together.
