Ayrton Senna spent six seasons racing for McLaren, during which time he won each three of his Formula 1 World Championships and most of his 41 Grand Prix victories.

Ron Dennis, McLaren team-principal at the time, remembers: “His skills, craft, subtlety and courage were of such magnitude that he dwarfed his generation of drivers.”

In 1988, Ayrton Senna and McLaren teammate Alain Prost (picture below) won fifteen of the sixteen races between them. Such was their domination. The World Championship for Drivers was won by Ayrton Senna and the Constructors’ World Championship went to McLaren-Honda.
