Honda wanted to return to Formula One as a constructor in 1999 and test the RA099, a chassis, two were built, developed by Dallara (that’s why it was nicknamed “Dallhonda”), in collaboration with engineer Harvey Postlethwaite (picture above).
Twenty years before his son Max, Jos Verstappen had been hired by the Japanese manufacturer (picture below), but the sudden death of Postlethwaite, who suffered a heart attack during a test session at Jérez, put a final halt to the project.
