Six months after Ford’s triumph at the Le Mans 24 Hours, recently so well documented in the movie “Le Mans 66”, Ferrari took a splendid revenge with an historic 1-2-3 at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours.

The photo finish, in the bright light of Florida, was even more impressive than the one taken under the French rain six months before, with three iconic (and slightly different) red cars next to each other, showing arguably one of the prettiest race cars ever built !

Victory went to Chris Amon/Lorenzo Bandini in the no 23, a P3/P4 in spyder version, in front of the #24, a P4 coupe driven by Mike Parkes/ Ludovico Scarfiotti and the #26, a NART fielded 412P in the hands of Pedro Rodriguez/Jean Guichet.

Two Porsches followed : the 910 of Hans Hermann/Jo Siffert and the 907 LH of Dieter Spoery/Rico Steineman.

The first Ford came a distant fifth, a GT40 driven by Jacky Ickx/Dick Thompson followed by the MKII 7 litres of Brice McLaren/Lucien Bianchi.
