Philippe Étancelin (1898- 1981) was a French racing driver who began racing a privateer Bugatti in 1926. He was a successful driver between 1926 and 1939, and resumed racing after the war. His 1949 season for example, saw second places at the Marseille Grand Prix (to Fangio), the European Grand Prix at Monza (to Ascari).
He retired from competition in 1953 but retained interest in racing, making occasional appearances in historic racing through 1974.
