Norris’ star qualities

Now in his third season at McLaren, Lando Norris has proved his racing potential and his star qualities. On top of his obvious speed, the young (21) Brit has brought a sense of fun, fresh air to the Formula One community.

Norris has scored the fourth podium of his young career at the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix (picture above with winner Max Verstappen), and his 14th (!) successive points finish, while dominating his highly rated team mate Ricciardo, is really impressive.

But the young man’s laid back attitude hides a steely determination and hard work, as he explains to Damien Smith of Motorsport Magazine: “I have a cool life, I can’t complain about anything, things are going well,” says Norris. “I have come back a much better driver than I was last year.”

He adds: “It’s not easy to find one or two tenths, it takes time, a lot of understanding and hard work. That’s something I did a lot over the winter – and it’s paying off.”

We, at the Human Side of Racing, are so happy to witness the rise of a new champion. It’s certain now: Lando Norris will continue to impress us.
