Marc Surer, born 18 September 1951, is a former racing driver from Switzerland, currently working as TV commentator and racing school instructor. He is the 1979 European Formula 2 champion and he participated in 88 Formula One Grand Prix, scoring a total of 17 championship points. Unusual: He has been married to two Playboy Magazine models.

Surer joined the Arrows team and Belgian Thierry Boutsen for the 1986 Formula One season that proved to be a disaster. The A9, powered by the BMW M12 turbocharged engine, was delivered late after British Aerospace had problems building the team’s first carbon composite chassis. The car proved to be uncompetitive and its designer Dave Wass left to join Benetton, leaving just Jackie Oliver and Alan Rees in charge.

Despite the efforts of Arrows’ very competent drivers, results were poor. Surer finished three times ninth, without scoring a point. Boutsen did slightly better with four seventh place finishes and German Christian Danner scored the only point of the season for the team, by finishing sixth in Italy, when he replaced Surer who was badly injured in a rallye accident.
