An excellent second place at Monaco (picture above) in 2008 for Robert Kubica (BMW-Sauber), just 3.064 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton’s winning McLaren. The Brit will be crowned at the end of the season.

What could Kubica have achieved in F1, if he’d not been badly injured in a rallye accident? We’ll never know. A lot, I think. All the more, because, it seems, he had signed a contract to soon join the Scuderia Ferrari.

Robert Kubica was active in Formula One from 2006-2010, in 2019 and in 2021. In 99 starts, for the BMW Sauber, Renault, Williams, Alfa Romeo teams, he scored one victory, 12 podiums, 1 pole position and 274 career points.

Nowadays, Kubica distinguishes himself in the World Endurance Championship for Team WRT. He finished second in the LMP2 class at Le Mans in 2022 and 2023 (picture below) and won many races.
