“If it’s worth doing, do it right or don’t do it at all.” -A.J. Foyt

Anthony Joseph Foyt, born January 16 in 1935, turns 86 today. He is an American racing driver who has raced and won in all racing categories. His open wheel racing includes Midget cars, Sprint cars, USAC, ChampCar, Nascar, endurance racing.

He holds the USAC career wins record with 159 victories! Foyt is the only driver to win the Indianapolis 500 (which he won a record four times), the Daytona 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (1967).

In the mid-sixties, Foyt became a team owner, fielding cars for himself and other drivers. Since retiring from active racing, he has owned A.J. Foyt Enterprises, which has fielded teams in the CART, IRL and NASCAR.

At the age of 86, A.J Foyt is still regularly seen on the pit wall, managing his teams efforts. If anybody did it right, it’s certainly Mr. Foyt. A legend.
