From Gilles to Charles

Canadian Gilles Villeneuve of the Scuderia Ferrari finished second behind team mate South African Jody Scheckter, in the 1979 World Championship of F1 Drivers, while Ferrari won the Constructors’ crown. A fantastic double success.

Charles Leclerc, leading at this point of the season (with two victories) the 2022 standings, commemorates the 40 years anniversary since the death of the great Canadian, and poses next to Gilles Villeneuve’s glorious Ferrari 312T4. Do you, like me, see some resemblance?

Leclerc, a warrior in the same vain as Villeneuve, although nobody really compares to the regretted Canadian, is very popular in Italy, and should he become World Champion, will certainly capture the hearts of the tifosi for ever, as did Gilles.
