Wilson Fittipaldi, born 25 December 1943 in São Paolo, is a Brazilian former racing driver and Formula One team owner. He participated in 38 Formula One Grand Prix, between 1972 to 1975, for the teams Brabham and Copersucar-Fittipaldi, scoring a total of three championship points.

Elder brother of double World Champion and double Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi, he ran the Fittipaldi Formula One team between 1974 and 1982.

Picture above: Wilson Fittipaldi in the Riccardo Divila-designed Fittipaldi FD03 at the Nürburgring 1975, where he qualified 22nd but had to retire on lap 4 with a broken engine.

I still rate Wilson’s helmet design, simple and very distinctive, as one of the nicest of the era. The Brazilian is a great guy (I heard), just like his brother Emerson, and was a decent and passionate driver too.
