Anders Olofsson (1952-2008) was a talented Swedish racing driver. He won back-to-back Swedish Formula 3 titles in 1977 and 1978 and finished runner-up in the European F3 Championship in the same seasons. These excellent results being achieved in his own white Ralt, on a minimal budget against well-funded works teams.

The quiet Swede had one outing in a works March 792 in Formula 2 at Zandvoort in 1979 (picture), but failed to impress, he finished 15th.

He then moved to Japan and won three consecutive Japanese Touring Car titles as a works Nissan driver and triumphed in the 1991 Spa 24 Hours, driving a Nissan Skyline with David Brabham and Naoki Hattori.

Oloffsson also finished second overall and winner in the GT1 class of the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours, sharing a Gulf McLaren with Jean-Marc Gounon and Pierre-Henri Raphanel (main picture).

He retired from racing end of 1997 and worked in driver management with Swedish racers. Olofsson suddenly died in his sleep in 2008, aged 55.
