Emotions in red
In 1982, French driver Patrick Tambay was offered a place at the Scuderia Ferrari after the death of his close friend Gilles Villeneuve during practice for the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder.
He won his first Grand Prix at the German Prix held in Hockenheim that year, after his team mate Didier Pironi was badly injured in practice. It was just his fourth race for the Maranello based team.
He took his second and last Grand Prix win in 1983 at Imola (picture above), in a very emotional victory in front of the Italian supporters, when he drove the #27 Ferrari (the car number of Villeneuve).
Patrick Tambay is seen here-above celebrating on the podium at Imola 1983, with team mate René Arnoux and Alain Prost (Renault).
