The 80-lap race was won by Graham Hill, driving a works Lotus-Ford. It was Hill’s 14th and final Grand Prix victory, and his fifth Monaco win, a record that would stand for 24 years before being bettered by Ayrton Senna.

Siffert qualified fifth in his Rob Walker entered Lotus-Ford and finished on the podium (3rd), behind Graham Hill (Lotus) and Piers Courage second in a Frank Williams entered Brabham.

In 96 F1 starts, the spectacular Swiss will obtain two victories, six podium finishes, two pole positions and 68 career points.
