Jackie Oliver is a British former Formula 1 and sports cars driver and former owner of the Arrows Formula 1 team.
He won the 1969 Le Mans 24 Hours (picture above) and the Sebring 12 Hours with Belgian Jacky Ickx aboard a works John Wyer entered Ford GT40 and won the Can-Am championship for Don Nichols’ Shadow team in 1974 (picture below).
His team Arrows would become famous for competing in a record 382 Grand Prix without achieving a single victory (although coming very close a couple of times). His team gave their F1 breaks to talented drivers – besides Riccardo Patrese, Thierry Boutsen, Gerhard Berger, Marc Surer and many others would drive for the team early in their career.
