During the 1973 season, French driver François Cevert reflected on his relationship with his team-mate, mentor and friend, Scot Jackie Stewart.

François Cevert: “In the beginning of my F1 career I was driving like hell and not thinking about what I was doing. Jackie (Stewart) stopped all that.”

“Nowadays I am sometimes as fast as him, but he is week in week out on top of his game, which is not the case for me,  he understands the behavior of the car like nobody else and he still teaches me so much.”
