Le Mans 1962: The #19 Ferrari 250 GTO of Jean Guichet and Pierre Noblet leads the #22 Ferrari 250 GTO of ‘Eldé’ (Léon Dernier) and Jean Blaton ‘Beurlys’.

Jean Guichet and Pierre Noblet would finish in second position overall and winners of the GT class, a fantastic result for a private entry, five laps behind the works Ferrari 330 TRI/LM of Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill.

Jean Guichet explained: “Pierre Noblet and I ran together always keeping in mind it was necessary to preserve the car for 24 hours, never going beyond the strategy we had defined together and more specifically that one never tried to go faster than the other.”

‘Eldé’ and ‘Beurlys’ finished third overall (another fantastic result) for the Écurie Nationale Belge entered Ferrari.
