Jones or Laffite?

Is it Alan Jones or Jacques Laffite in the cockpit of this beautiful light blue race car (picture above)? It is indeed Alan Jones we see here at the wheel of a Chevron B40-Hart entered by Fred Opert, at the Nürburgring F2 Eiffelrennen in 1977.

The car still features Jacques Laffite’s name on both sides of the cockpit, because the Frenchman was supposed to drive the car, but Jones replaced him just before practice started. (If anybody know why exactly this has happened, please do not hesitate to write us).

Jochen Mass won the race in a works March 772P (picture below), ahead of Eddie Cheever in a Project 4-entered Ralt, and Keke Rosberg in a Fred Opert-entered Chevron in third. Alan Jones suffered some technical issues and was classified in 19th.
