Great picture taken at the drivers’ briefing prior to the 1968 Monza 1000 km.
From left to right we see: Paul Hawkins, Brian Redman (arms crossed) and Jacky Ickx, are part of the John Wyer Automotive squad sponsored by Gulf (with David Hobbs, missing in this picture), driving the works Ford GT40’s.
Far left, behind Hawkins one can recognise Vic Elford wearing a white helmet and Carlo Facetti is seen between Redman and Ickx, strapping his brown helmet.
Paul Hawkins and David Hobbs will win this race, after the leading sister car of Ickx and Redman had to retire with a broken exhaust, narrowly edging the Porsche 907 of Stommelen and Neerpasch.

merci bcp !
