Nice era of racing when the F2 cars were lining up four by four, on the front row of the 1968 Eifelrennen ran on the South loop of the Nürburgring, a 7.5 km track situated (as it’s name indicates) south of the great 22 km long race track, for a total of 28 kms.
We recognise next to pole sitter Jacky Ickx (Ferrari DinoV6), the Brabhams BT23C of Piers Courage and Kurt Ahrens as well as the second Dino driven by Brian Redman.
Victory went to Chris Irwin in a Lola T100 in front of the Brabhams of Kurt Ahrens and Derek Bell, followed by Redman (Dino Ferrari) and the Lotus 48 of Jackie Oliver (picture below).
