Changing of the Guard

Start of the “Guards Trophy” at Brands Hatch in 1964, on the front row: the Zerex Special of future winner Bruce McLaren (who ‘smokes’ the tires), the works Lotus 30 of Jim Clark and the Ferrari 330P of Graham Hill, entered by Maranello Concessionaires.
These pretty sports cars will soon cross the Atlantic, as seen here with a second place finish for Jim Clark at the 200 Miles of Riverside during the “LA Time Grand Prix” (the famous Los Angeles newspaper), in a pretty but unreliable Lotus 40 (picture here-under) behind the Chaparral 2A of Hap Sharp, as a taste of the next years’ popular Can-Am series.
