A Bentley Speed 8 (picture above) shared by Dane Tom Kristensen, Italian Rinaldo Capello and Englishman Guy Smith wins the 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it started from pole position. Kristensen had set the fastest overall time in the second qualifying session.
The team, assisted by the Joest Racing, won the race, two laps ahead of the sister Bentley of Mark Blundell, Johnny Herbert and David Brabham in second place.
It was Capello and Smith first Le Mans victory and Kristensen’s fifth. This was the sixth overall victory for Bentley, and their first since the 1930 edition.
