Most people think AJ Foyt had no experience whatsoever on road circuits before winning the 1967 Le Mans 24 Hours with Dan Gurney in their Ford MkIV.

Well here is the proof of the contrary: in 1963, the Texan driver  (picture below) won the Nassau Trophy during the ‘Bahamas Speed Week’, driving a Mecom Scarab, as seen here in the same race one year later, being chased by Hab Sharp’s Chaparral.
